#3 of 108: Everyday, Win a Small Victory For Your Soul!

This morning I got in the taxi to go to the airport.

I noticed on the taxi driver’s dashboard a framed picture of the Dalai Lama and a statue of the Buddha (see pic).

The taxi driver seemed like the happiest guy, not something you normally see in a NYC taxi driver.

Meanwhile, I was in the backseat, busy on my cell phone speaking to the airlines.

Did I want to be on the phone with the airline agent or chatting it up with the jolly Dalai Lama-lovin cab driver?

We are faced with these moments everyday: The Smartphone vs The Moment.

And most times, The Smartphone wins out because it’s more addictive, more convenient, and in many cases, more important, being that we have to get our work done.

But once a day, just once a day, win a small victory for your soul and live in the moment!

This morning, I hung up the cell phone and learned a valuable lesson from the Buddhist taxi driver. It was my meanignful connection of the day (1:1:1). To read what I learned from the taxi driver and to learn more about 1:1:1, visit here.
