What about this photo makes it special? “The attached photo is of my parents. For me the photo requires no words, it is just beautiful and shows my mother’s love and devotion to her husband of 56 years.
My dad has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease since 1998. My mom has taken care of him throughout the ravages of the disease. Even when he was moved to a care home she continued spending time with him every day. They were true soul mates. My mom once remarked to him that she felt like she had known him all her life. He replied “That’s because you didn’t start living until you met me.”
My dad could no longer communicate with words but you could look in his eyes and see that there was some recognition still there. What touches me most about this picture is how he is looking at my mom. Even though he can’t tell her with words his eyes express his eternal love and gratitude for her. The picture is a pure, unadulterated example of true love and devotion, an illustration of “for better or worse”.”
How do you live in the moment? “My dad taught me best how to live in the moment by teaching me to focus on the positives, laugh a lot every day and always cherish your family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to cut loose. One of his many famous sayings was: “Get HOT or Go HOME!”"
