BEAUTIFUL MOMENT: HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

Who: Robin Bourjaily
Where and When: Waukee, IA, on May 24 at Clipart
What about this photo makes it special? “Here’s my 8-year-old daughter holding up 10 inches of her beautiful hair right after it was cut. We put it in an envelope and sent it to locks of love…The moment was special because my daughter was so brave and excited about cutting her hair for such a good cause. It was her idea and she saw it through, getting a short sassy cut for summer that she loves. Even though there were a few tears later (“I miss my hair”), we were able to look at the Locks of Love website and imagine a little girl with fine blond hair whose wig Laura’s hair might become a part of. Since then she’s been happy about the cut and the donation.”
How do you live in the moment? “Living in the moment is always the challenge–I try to do it one breath or laugh or hug or tear or sigh at a time. Thank you for asking.”
