Where and When: This photo was taken during a recent 3 week holiday in Kyoto, Japan.
What about this photo makes it special? “Uji is an area famous for the growing of delicious sencha or green tea leaves. The cafe, built on one end of the bridge that spans the river at Uji, has a 400 year old wooden tea canister used by the Emperor to hold the tea for the first tea ceremony of the season. The water for the tea was taken out of the river from a special platform built out off the centre of the bridge.”
