Who: Trang Kang from Sachse, TX
Where and When: Fig pic taken Sept 2,2011 in Avignon, France. Lemon macaron pic taken Sept 7, 2011 in Paris, France.
What about these photos make them special? ”My husband took these pictures for fun after taking one bite of the fig and macaron, and when I saw them, my heart stopped. They were so beautiful each in their own way. Biting into the soft purplish skin of the fig released its honeyed juices, exposing its ripe and georgous rosy flesh and seeds. An experience that pleasantly filled my mouth into a gooey, crackly delight.

Now, for the citron macaron. This was a beauty. Its smooth sugary shell yielded to a soft chewiness that just made you feel like you were wrapped in a blanket of lemony sun. It made me fall in love with lemon all over again.
So what? well. It was a duality of beautiful and delicious all at once: nature vs ‘man’, ahem ‘woman’ made: each equally delicious and beautiful in their own way. Each, artistically created with a nurturing care, with the ‘man’ made one humbly mimicking nature in the most flattering way.”
How do you live in the moment? ”Savoring life one delicious bite at a time, being thankful for the sun, the soil, the water and the beautiful hands that made the food that nourishes my body and spirit each day. I am pausing to notice the gifts of nature and appreciate the ways I can recreate those gifts on my own to empower my own life.”
