#5 of 108:   Unravel a Roll of Toilet Paper

If a roll of toilet paper represented the 5 billion year history of our planet, the existence of humans on the planet would only be .1mm of a square of toilet paper.

So you can imagine that one human life lasts just a fraction of a second on the cosmic calendar.

We are here for such a short time.

I have a message for your ego and mine:

One hundred years from now, nobody will know you. N-O-B-O-D-Y.

Just sayin…

As Sydney Smith said, “She has spent all her life in letting down empty buckets into empty wells; and she is frittering away her age in trying to draw them up again.

So put down the “bucket.”

And make YOUR fraction of a second count!

  • Stand up for something, maybe your soul. A wise one said, “You owe no loyalty to anyone but your own soul and that is the most sacred form of loyalty.”
  • Indulge in something, and do it TONIGHT.  As Elizabeth Taylor said, “The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they’re going to have some pretty annoying virtues.”
  • Trust the advice of a young child, they are wiser and more Connected. Just try by asking a question to a 5 year old…something like “What’s the secret to happiness?” That’s what I did to 5 year old Logan with whom I shared my 1:1:1 this past Saturday (read about it).

Next time you are NOT Livin the Moment, unravel a roll of toilet paper and use it to WIPE the slate clean and put your life in perspective.
